Tomorrow’s Fish Are Still in the Sea
Fresh sustainable seafood for today, and tomorrow.
Located right on the new fish quay, Rockfish is a celebration of the South Devon seafood industry. As Brixham is one of the UK’s most important fishing ports, you cannot get fish much fresher than this. The restaurant is part of a small chain founded by seafood chef Mitch Tonks, but the Brixham branch feels like the spiritual home. The ethos is simple: sustainable, local fish, served brilliantly. You can watch the day’s catch being landed at the market next door while you wait. The menu changes daily based on what the boats bring in. While it is primarily a sit-down restaurant famous for its ‘rock’ solid fish and chips and mushy peas, they also offer a takeaway service for those who want to enjoy their meal walking along the harbour wall. The interior is modern and airy, with huge windows letting in the sea light, and the service is famously knowledgeable about the seafood on offer.
